Introductions are funny things, aren’t they? I’ve never been very good at them, to be honest. I get too in my head about them- what to say, how to say it, what impression it leaves, so and so forth. This one went through quite a few drafts, I can assure you.
Best to just take the plunge and get stuck in, right? Right. From the top;
Hello! My name is Decon Theed. I’ve been a freelance musician since around about 2012, though I’ve been composing music since I was a child. I’m also, perhaps unsurprisingly, a writer; I dabble in both fiction writing and nonfiction work, having written a large number of stories or drafted up worldbuilding/design documents for various projects, as well as articles or essays on a variety of subjects both profressionally and in my free time. Relatedly, I’ve also done a lot of copywriting work- marketing copy for products, descriptions of products for databases, that sort of thing. I actually got my start in the creative arts with illustration- I was one of those children/teenagers who doodles excessively (and often, during school hours), and briefly considered getting into art professionally during my GCSE’s. Though I haven’t had a decent camera in over a decade, I also quite enjoy photography, and have in recent years begun to delve into graphic design.
This blog’s focus and function will be for my non-fiction writing; you won’t be seeing any fiction pieces here, and my own music or art will rarely be discussed, if at all. Fact is, that description above only really scratches the surface of the topics I am interested in or feel like I have something to say about. They won’t always be long pieces, but some may well be, and the range of topics covered branches from food and drink that I like to what stories I’ve been enjoying, and discussions of video game scores that I love to musings on what its like living with anxiety and depression, so on and so forth. If it’s a topic that I can speak about, it will very likely go here. There will be no real update schedule- posts will happen as and when they get written.
If that sounds interesting, then I sincerely hope you stick around.
